Crosskeys 1 at Ipswich
East Region Result March 2nd
What a game! Norfolk United came to the John Warner Centre with successful results in recent matches. We took the game to
them and after going ahead in the first quarter settled for a 20-20 score at half time. In the third quarter we raised
our game and played our own game, short direct passing in mid-court with the sustained clinical finishing usually
from within two metres of the post from our shooters Claire G and Elaine. The quality of our movement and passing
in and around
the shooting cirle took us into a five goal lead at the end of this quarter.
In the final quarter, they came back with five or six consecutive goals and we were struggling to maintain our form
and keep possession. An injury to Ella forced a time out and she had to come off. Danny went on despite feeling very unwell
and the team rallied and fought on. We managed with more inspired shooting to come back to within one goal of our opponents
at the finish.
Despite the really disappointing result, the team can be proud of the way they fought to the end. There is no doubt
that the squad's performances over the second half of the season have improved, and if we can
maintain more consistency in our approach to possession we can turn results like this one in our favour.
The Squad: Rebecca, Amy, Kirsty, Shona, Ella, Claire G. Elaine. Reserve Danny. Coach: Paula, Scorer: Karen.

Watford Premier currently third in the league presented a formidable opposition. We have shown real ability
in all our matches, winning quarters and halfs against the top sides. We have needed more consistency, and a return to
the basics of keeping possession, not forcing the play and, most importantly, believing in ourselves.
Today we did just that as Watford Premier were to find out. We were always in front and in the last quarter went even further
ahead to finish 8 goals clear. Everyone in the team played for each other, and we were cheered on
by our enthusiastic supporters. Final Score 36-48.
The Squad: Ashley, Shona, Kirsty, Danny, Claire, Claire G. Elaine. Team supporter: Lucy, Coach: Paula, Scorer: Karen.

We knew it was going to be a hard game against Ipswich Ladies who are currenty 2nd in the league table.
We started very well and went 6 goals up in the first quarter. They came back at us and the game remained very close
until the final quarter where we fought hard and managed to gain a point. The team spirit remains high and
the team played well as a unit with Shona fitting in seamlessly as goal defence.
If we continue to play as well as this we should get some results against some of
the lower placed league teams we still have to play.
The Squad: Rebecca, Shona, Kirsty, Danny, Ella, Claire G, Claire. Coach: Paula, Scorer: Karen.

Crosskeys 1 played to realise some of their potential to defeat Belton by 11 goals. The whole team played
well as a unit with good team spirit. Rebecca and Elaine at opposite ends of the court turned in much improved
performances which had a lot to do with this excellent result. Rumour has it that the presence of the
left-handed club mascot contributed to the team's success.
The Squad: Rebecca, Amy, Kirsty, Danny, Ella, Claire, Elaine and Emma. Coach: Paula. Scorer: Marion. Thanks to the
supporters.
