The weather remained dry and the competition strong. We entered two teams into this very friendly competition. The Koalas stormed strongly through the round-robin competition, winning all their games.
The Emus , who were the younger age group, also played well, winning some and losing some, finishing 5th overall.

Six girls took part in the Tournament at Stanborough School, Welwyn. They had a fun time and recorded three wins from their eight games. This was an improvement on last year’s results.
All the girls played with skill and determination throughout, displaying a great team spirit.

This was the U-11’s first seven-a side tournament. The Koalas won 4 games, drew 1 and lost 2. They worked well as a team and were good ambassadors for the club with their attitude to the other players and the officials. Though they all played to 100% it should be noted that Nancy’s defending skills were exemplary and a pleasure to watch.
The Emus enthusiasm was wonderful. They drew 2 games and lost the others but never gave up trying. They were happy to provide an older team with players, and again were a credit to the club. We hope to build on the experience and look forward to the next game.
